Frequently asked questions

The short answers. Each one links to the longer explanation if you want the full version.

What if I want to cancel and get a refund?

Every paid plan is backed by a 60-day money-back guarantee. If Mission Broadcast isn't working for you within 60 days of your initial purchase, email support@missionbroadcast.com and we'll refund the subscription fee in full — no support-ticket gymnastics, no "are you sure?" detours. Replying to any billing receipt reaches the same inbox.

A few mechanics to be aware of:

  • The guarantee covers the first 60 days only and resets only on the initial purchase — not on renewals of upfront plans or on add-ons purchased separately.
  • Wholesale costs we've already paid on your behalf and can't recover (most commonly the $10–15 domain-registration fee if you bought a Managed Custom Domain) are deducted from the refund and disclosed to you at the time.
  • The guarantee doesn't apply to refunds requested after we've suspended or closed your account for a Terms of Service violation.

Refunds typically post back to your card within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

The full legal version lives in Terms of Service §5 — 60-day guarantee.

How do I cancel a Monthly subscription?

Open the Billing page in the account sidebar, select Manage billing, and cancel from Stripe's portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period — never mid-cycle, so you keep service through what you've already paid for.

Can I switch from Monthly to Full-Mission later?

Yes. One Stripe checkout. If the missionary is already partway through the mission, the upfront Full-Mission or Pro plan is prorated to the months remaining, so you don't pay for time that's already passed.

What happens to the archive when the mission ends?

When the paid term ends you get a 30-day export window to download every letter and photo and generate the final PDF Letter Book. After that, the archive is removed. Archive Keepalive — a way to keep everything readable at the same URL after the mission — is coming soon (planned at $20/year for a BYO domain or the default subdomain, $40/year for a managed domain).

What if the missionary stops broadcasting mid-mission?

Monthly subscriptions auto-pause if the missionary goes quiet, so you're not paying for time you aren't using: if no broadcast goes out for about 60 days we email you a heads-up, and at around 90 days with no letters Stripe billing pauses automatically — you're not charged again until letters resume. You keep your archive and your subscribers either way.

Upfront plans (Full-Mission and Pro) are paid in full at signup, so there's no recurring charge to pause. If a missionary's circumstances change mid-mission, reach out and we'll work it out with you.

Can I get the letters as a keepsake book at the end?

Yes — the Letter Book turns every letter and photo into a keepsake at homecoming. The PDF Letter Book is $25 à la carte on any plan, and it's bundled into Pro at no extra cost. A printed hardcover book is $125 à la carte for any tier. You don't decide at signup — you can add the book whenever you're ready, including after the mission ends (during the export window).

How does the missionary send letters if they can't use a website?

By email. The missionary emails letters to your intake address, and they can also manage the subscriber list and update the mission map with email commands — no login required. This is the missionary's whole interface to the product.

Do subscribers need an account or password?

No. Subscribers get every letter in their inbox without logging in. The only time the archive asks them to confirm their email is the first time on a new device — and even that is a one-time step it tries to remember for a year.

A subscriber says they're getting too many emails. What can they do?

They can pause emails for 30 or 90 days from the Pause emails link in any letter's footer — they come back automatically, with no need to resubscribe. Pausing is gentler than unsubscribing.

Do I have to use my own domain?

No. Every site works for the whole mission at the address we give you (missionbroadcast.com/m/<your-slug>). A custom domain is optional polish. You can bring your own on the Full-Mission and Pro upfront plans (not on Monthly), or add the Managed Custom Domain upgrade — a paid add-on available on any plan, including Monthly, and bundled with Pro.

Where do I send a question that isn't here?

Email support@missionbroadcast.com — please include the missionary slug (m/<slug>) so we can find the account quickly. Or use the floating feedback button in the account console (details).
