Gift certificates¶
A Mission Broadcast plan makes a wonderful farewell, departure, or Christmas gift. Anyone — a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or friend — can pay for a missionary's plan as a gift, without creating an account, at missionbroadcast.com/gift.
The gift is delivered as a simple 8-character code. The missionary's family redeems it, and the plan attaches to their missionary's site as if they'd bought it themselves.
Buying a gift¶
- Go to missionbroadcast.com/gift.
- Pick a plan (Full-Mission or Pro) and the mission length (6, 12, 18, or 24 months). Gifts cost exactly the same as buying directly — same plans, same prices.
- Tell us the missionary's name, add an optional note from you
(it goes in the gift email), and choose how to deliver the code:
- Email it to the family now — they get a friendly gift email with your note, the code, and a one-click redeem button.
- Email the code to me — you get the code instead. Print it and tuck it in a card, or forward the email on the day of the farewell.
- Pay once through Stripe's secure checkout — we never see your card.
Either way, you always get a confirmation email with the code, your receipt, a plain-English explanation of how the family redeems it — and a link to print a keepsake certificate: one page, with the code on it, ready to tuck in a card or set on the farewell table.
Don't worry about timing
A gift code never expires, and the family's paid months don't start counting until they activate the site — so a gift given at the farewell loses nothing, even if the missionary reports months later.
Redeeming a gift¶
If you received a gift email, the Redeem this gift button takes you
straight to the redeem page with the code filled in. With a printed card,
go to missionbroadcast.com/redeem and type the
code — capitals, dashes, and spaces don't matter, and easily-confused
characters (like O and 0) are forgiven automatically.
What happens next depends on where you are:
- Already have an account and a missionary site? Sign in, redeem, done — the gifted plan and months attach to your site, and the Billing page shows a "Gift applied" line.
- New to Mission Broadcast? Create your free account first (the redeem page walks you through it), set up your missionary's page — it takes a few minutes — then redeem. The gift email's button brings you back with the code ready.
The gifted time then waits in Setup mode until you tap Activate site, exactly like a direct purchase — see When does my service time start counting?
Common questions¶
Can a gifted Full-Mission plan be upgraded to Pro? Yes. The family upgrades on their Billing page and pays only the difference between the two plans — the gifted months carry over untouched. See Managing billing → Moving to a bigger plan.
What if the missionary's site already has a paid plan? The gift can't be applied on top of an existing plan automatically. The redeem page will say so and point you at support@missionbroadcast.com — we'll refund the gift, or re-point it wherever you'd like (a sibling's mission, or toward a Pro upgrade). The code stays valid until it's sorted.
Does the code expire? No. An unredeemed gift certificate never expires.
Can a gift be refunded? An unredeemed gift is fully refundable any time — the purchaser just replies to their confirmation email or writes support@missionbroadcast.com. Once redeemed, the plan is covered by the normal 60-day money-back guarantee, counted from the day it was redeemed; refunds go back to the purchaser's original payment method.
I lost the code. The purchaser's confirmation email has a copy. If it's truly gone, email support@missionbroadcast.com from the address that bought the gift and we'll sort it out.
