Dashboard & intake address¶
The Dashboard is the first thing you see when you open the console. It gives you the site's pulse and the addresses you'll share with the missionary.
The numbers at a glance¶
Three tiles across the top, each of which you can select to jump to that area:
- Active Subscribers — how many people get the letters (with the unsubscribed count below).
- Pending Letters — letters waiting in the queue for you to review.
- Letters Sent — how many broadcasts have gone out.
The intake address¶
This is the address the missionary emails letters to. It's shown in the Intake address card with a Copy button — send it to the missionary.
- On the shared subdomain it looks like
letters@<your-slug>.missionbroadcast.com. - After you set up a custom domain it becomes
letters@<your-domain>.
Only addresses on your approved senders list (set in Site settings) can use it. Anyone else's email gets a polite bounce-back.
Get the subscriber list by email
Approved senders can email subscriber-list@<your-domain> to get the
current roster sent back as a reply — useful when web access is limited.
See What you can do by email.
Quick actions¶
Buttons to jump straight to the most common tasks: Review Pending Letters, Manage Subscribers, and Compose New Letter.
Banners¶
The Dashboard surfaces anything that needs your attention as a banner at the top:
- Setup mode — your site hasn't been activated yet: broadcasts go to test recipients only and your paid clock is frozen. The banner carries the Activate site button — one (permanent) tap opens your real subscriber list and starts your service months. See Getting started.
- Maintenance mode is on — broadcasts are going to test recipients only (the post-activation test switch). Turn it off in Site settings when you're ready to send for real.
- DNS drift — a custom-domain record stopped resolving. See Domain troubleshooting.
- This site is scheduled for deletion — someone asked to delete this site, and it's now in a grace period. See A site scheduled for deletion below.
A site scheduled for deletion¶
If someone requests that this site be deleted — for example, by closing their account — the site doesn't disappear right away. It enters a grace period (30 days, or 90 days if the missionary has never signed in), and a red banner appears at the top of the Dashboard with a countdown.
The banner tells you:
- who asked for the deletion (the Missionary, the Admin, or Mission Broadcast support),
- the exact date the site will be permanently deleted, and
- how many days are left.
Everyone with a role on the site also gets an email the moment this starts, plus reminders along the way (about halfway through, when five days are left, and in the final 24 hours).
While the site is paused, anyone who visits its public web address sees a short "this site is paused" page (with a link to restart it) instead of the missionary's page — so no one lands on a half-deleted site. New letters emailed to the site's address aren't accepted during the grace, and broadcasts won't go out until the site is restored. Nothing already in the archive is touched.
If instead the missionary asked for their own data to be erased (a privacy right — different from an admin clean-up), the public page reads "this site is no longer available" with no restart link: an erasure request can't be cancelled by the site's admins, only withdrawn by the missionary who started it.
Restart the site¶
If you don't want the site deleted, select Restart site in the banner — or the Restart site button in any of the emails. The site comes straight back online, the countdown stops, and everyone is told it was restored. You can do this any time before the deadline.
Who can restart:
- the Missionary and the Admin can always restart their own site,
- Mission Broadcast support can restart any site,
- a Moderator can't restart a site — but they can still download a copy of the data.
Download everything first¶
Next to Restart site is Download all data. Whether or not you plan to restart, you can download a full copy of the letters, photos, and subscriber list while the grace period is running. After the deadline passes, the data can't be recovered.
Next steps¶
- Send the intake address to the missionary, then have them read What you can do by email.
- Review and send incoming letters in Letters.
- Set who's allowed to send and what shows publicly in Site settings.
