Subscribers¶
The Subscribers tab is your list of everyone following the missionary. Tabs across the top split it into Active, Unsubscribed, and All, each with a live count, plus a search box for finding someone by name or email.
Share your page¶
At the top of the Subscribers tab is a Share your page card with a QR code that goes to your missionary's public page.
People who scan it (with their phone camera, no app needed) land on the page where they can subscribe — perfect for a Christmas card, a family newsletter, a family gathering, or anywhere you can print or display a code.
The card has four actions:
- Download PNG — saves an image you can print or paste into a flyer. The missionary's name and the URL are rendered below the QR so a printed copy is self-explanatory.
- Download SVG — saves a vector version for print shops.
- Share… — on a phone, opens the system Share sheet (text, email, AirDrop, etc.). On a desktop without the share API, the link gets copied to your clipboard instead.
- Copy link — copies the plain URL to your clipboard.
Use Hide in the top-right of the card to collapse it once you've downloaded what you need — the panel remembers your preference, so it stays hidden the next time you visit. Use Show to bring it back.
What the QR encodes
The QR points to your missionary's public page (https://<your
domain> for a custom domain, or https://<slug>.missionbroadcast.com
for a shared subdomain) — the same page anyone can subscribe from.
Add one subscriber¶
- Select + Add.
- Enter a name (optional) and email.
- Select Add Subscriber.
Adding someone here doesn't send a welcome email
Welcome emails only go to people who subscribe themselves from the public site. Anyone you add manually or import is added quietly.
Import a list¶
Moving from another tool, or have a roster to paste in?
- Select Import List.
- Paste your list into the box. It accepts:
- a Mailman2 roster,
- a CSV with an
emailcolumn (and optionalname), or - plain email addresses, one per line.
It also reads common formats like
Real Name <email@example.com>andemail@example.com (Real Name).
- Select Preview Import to check what will be added.
- Select Confirm Import.
Two things worth knowing:
- Duplicates are skipped, so re-running an import won't double-add or double-send to anyone.
- No welcome emails are sent for imported subscribers.
Unsubscribes¶
Subscribers can remove themselves anytime using the link in every letter. You'll see them move to the Unsubscribed tab.
- You can manually unsubscribe someone from this tab if they ask you to — use the Remove button on their row.
- Unsubscribing is reversible. If someone wants back on, use the Re-add button on their row in the Unsubscribed tab — or they can re-subscribe themselves from the public site. (Someone who used the Forget me flow is the exception: that deletion is permanent and blocks re-subscription.)
Pausing is gentler than unsubscribing
Subscribers who just need a break can pause their emails for 30 or 90 days from any letter's footer — they come back automatically. See Pausing and leaving.
No subscriber limit¶
Every plan — Monthly, Full-Mission, and Pro — includes unlimited subscribers. Add as many people as you can faithfully keep up with.
The missionary can manage the list by email too
Approved senders can add people in bulk, pull the current roster, or subscribe a single friend without logging in — all by email. See What you can do by email → Manage the subscriber list.
Next steps¶
- Ready to write? See Letters.
- Want supporters to subscribe themselves? Point them at the public site — the For subscribers page walks them through it (and is safe to forward).
